La Anécdota, ideas competition for the redevelopment of La Viña, Lorca

From a general point of view, two essential moments can be distinguished in recent Spanish architecture. One is its international prominence in recent years, the other consists of the development of an emerging movement that involves an opening of architecture towards disciplines that go beyond construction and architectural composition. Horizontal and open working structures are one of the defining factors of this emerging movement. As opposed to the traditional model based on a studio made up of one or more partners/authors and collaborators, which is usually organized around a pyramidal work structure, we are witnessing the creation of a much more heterogeneous model, characterized by its horizontality. One of the reasons for this phenomenon is the creation of shared spaces for students. Created with the excuse of completing the Final Project, these are environments where hierarchies have not been established and where no business objective is sought, and which can therefore be defined as a laboratory for experimenting with ideas, projects and collaborations...[+]
