Developed by architect Nerea Calvillo in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, In the Air is a project to make visible in an intuitive but rigorous way the agents - gases, particles, pollen, etc. - present in the air of Madrid, showing how they behave and interact with the city.

The visualization is carried out thanks to two main tools: a digital one, conceived as a dynamic model that collects the data provided through sensors, visualizing them separately and presenting them graphically through an interactive web; and a physical one -located in Medialab-Prado-, a prototype conceived as a 'diffuse façade' that shows the components of the air through a cloud of variable intensity and color, produced by water nebulizers that also generate a microclimate in the prototype environment, reducing the temperature in summer and humidifying the atmosphere in winter.
