The studio TEC Taller EC, based in Quito (Ecuador), has designed four single-family homes at the foot of the Andes. The site determines the terraced solution chosen, which makes the most of the exterior spaces and improves lighting inside. The volumes are carved into the terrain alternating public and private spaces, all of them connected by skylit vertical communication cores. The ensemble is designed to offer views of the surrounding woods, towards which the interior spaces stretch out over the roofs of the volumes below.
