The Madrid firm established by Joaquín Millaìn Villamuelas, OOIIO Arquitectura, built these two houses in the Montecarlo residential area of Madrid’s Fuencarral-El Pardo district. Adapted to the particular needs of two different families, the designs present personalized configurations – such as one dwelling having an inner patio and the other not – without showing the variations on the outside. Vertical volumes of rough brick sticking out of the facade form shadows and protect the homes against the sun.
