Herzog & de Meuron will build the National Library of Israel

Herzog & de Meuron have been selected by the National Library Construction Company (NLCC) to build the library’s new home in Jerusalem. After the presentations before the selection committee, the Swiss team has been chosen over the other five invited participants: Renzo Piano, Frank Gehry and three Israeli architecture studios —Kolker Kolker Epstein, Ammar Curiel and Kimmel Eshkolot. The committee were Lord Rothschild, Luis Fernández-Galiano, Elinoar Komissar-Barzachi and David Blumberg.
