Herzog & de Meuron to design M+ museum in Hong Kong

Herzog and de Meuron have won the competition for M+, a new visual culture musuem in Hong Kong. The design of the Swiss partners has been selected over those presented by five other finalists – SANAA, Renzo Piano, Shigeru Ban, Snøhetta and Toyo ito – and the building will be among the first to go up in the West Kowloon Cultural District. Located in Victoria Harbour beside a 14-hectare park, M+ will be a center for 20th- and 21st-century art, design, architecture and film.
