Dossier Inflatables. Arquitectura Viva 163

Inflatable structures had their heyday in the 1970s, but today they are back with new applications, as the six works presented in the section show: a floating pavilion for the festival held in the Swiss town of St. Prex, by Atelier Alice; a concert hall for the areas affected by the tsunami of 2011, by Isozaki, Aoki & Associates, and Anish Kapoor; the biotope of Leipzig designed by Henchion + Reuter, spanning 140 meters; the ‘glamping’ units in South Korea, by studio Archiworkshop.kr; a greenhouse by Møller Architects in the Danish city of Aarhus; and the bus station in Aarau (Switzerland), by Vehovar & Jauslin, covered with ETFE cushions.

Arquitectura Viva 219 - VALERIO OLGIATI Arquitectura Viva
covers current topics, taking stock of recent trends in set sections: cover story, works and projects, art and culture, books, technique and innovation. From 2013 on, monthly and bilingual, with Spanish and English texts printed side by side.
AV Proyectos 95 - ENSAMBLE STUDIO AV Proyectos
is the third member of the AV family: a bilingual publication essentially focussed on design projects (with special attention on competitions and construction details), heretofore only laterally dealt with in the other two magazines.
