Begun in 2009, the renovation of Taifong Golf Club by Portuguese architects Álvaro Siza and Carlos Castanheira is now completed. Built in 1981 in the Taiwanese city of Changhua, the sport facilities sprawled over an area of 70 hectares needed a reorganization. A new clubhouse is integrated into the landscape, with an entrance pavilion and a reception building over underground parking, and preexisting infrastructures are used for a small hotel and a tea house. The project presents a series of independent volumes of exposed concrete, which makes it possible to carry out the renovation in phases, minimizing alteration of golf play.
