Located in downtown Sydney, One Central Park is composed of two residential towers rising 12 and 34 floors on a podium containing a 5-level shopping center. Designed by Jean Nouvel in collaboration with his French compatriot Patrick Blanc, a botanist, the vertical garden incorporated in the facades is made of different plant species which provide natural regulation of incoming solar radiation, adapting to the seasons of the year. The cantilevered stepped structure, an appendix of the taller building, contains a communal hall and a panoramic terrace, besides a suspended system of heliostats to follow the movement of the sun and reflect light upon the lower stories.
