Five finalists for Mies van der Rohe Award 2015

Out of 420 nominated works, the European Commission and the Mies van der Rohe Foundation named the five selected to vie for this year’s Mies van der Rohe Award for Contemporary Architecture: the LSE Saw Swee Hock student center in London, by O’Donnell + Tuomey; the Art Museum in Ravensburg (Germany), by Lederer Ragnarsdóttir Oei; the Danish Maritime Museum in Elsinore, by BIG / Bjarke Ingels Group; the Antinori Winery in San Casciano Val di Pesa(Italy), by Archea Associati; and the Philharmonic Hall of Szczecin (Poland), by Barozzi Veiga. The sites will be visited in the coming weeks by the jury, which includes Cino Zucchi, Margarita Jover, Lene Tranberg, Peter L. Wilson, Li Xiangning, Tony Chapman, and others. Two winners will be announced on 8 May: the grand winner and the emerging architect special mention, which will receive 60,000 and 20,000 euros, respectively.
